Indigenous New York Fashion Week 2026 — V Magazine

Sep 23, 2026

From New York · Coverage: V Magazine · 23 September 2026 · By Catherine Gerdes

One of the things we love about Fashion Week is that the inspiration goes far beyond hair.

While Marc and Sabrina were in New York, Indigenous New York Fashion Week returned for its second year — bringing together designers, models, artists and creative teams from across Indigenous communities around the world.

Held over three days, the 2026 event featured 30 Indigenous designers and 120 Indigenous models across presentations including Emerging Voices, Knowledge Keepers and a closing couture showcase.

V Magazine’s coverage looks particularly at the couture presentation and the work of designer and weaver Josh Tafoya, whose collection combines craft, family history and a distinctly contemporary point of view.

That combination of tradition, technique and individual creative expression is part of what makes events like Indigenous New York Fashion Week so exciting to experience around the wider Fashion Week calendar.

Marc has spoken about working on Indigenous Fashion Week shows during the New York trip, and we wanted to share some of the wider editorial coverage surrounding an event that left such a strong impression.
